Job Description: Mortgage Processor
Collect, package, review, and reconcile loan application documents
Order and perform the preliminary review of all third-party reports (appraisal, inspection and environmental)
Review loan application file to verify that application data is complete and meets established standards
Answer questions regarding loans and transactions
Run and/or review credit reports and call/write to employer to verify accuracy of information
Record data on status of loans, including the number of new applications and loans approved, canceled or denied
Work with the originator to clear any outstanding conditions prior to submitting the package to the closing department
Liaise with Underwriting and Closing to ensure end-to-end processing of the loan
Maintain communication with external customers, internal departments, and third-party vendors to promote positive business relations and relate loan status
Qualifications/Job Requirements:
Minimum 2-year degree
Minimum 5 years of experience as a mortgage processor (commercial preferred)
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, including managing files and records
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work well in a high energy, deadline-driven environment
Ability to be resourceful and find alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with all phases of loan processing
