Toorak completes £305m securitisation of residential bridging loans

Updated: Mar 16, 2022

Toorak Capital Partners has completed a $400m (approximately £305m) securitisation of residential bridging loans.

The real estate loan investment platform’s residential bridging loans securitisation — Toorak Mortgage Trust 2020-1 — is the fourth such loan securitisation issued by the company.

It has now completed over $3bn (approximately £2.3bn) of investments across more than 10,000 loans in 47 states in the US plus the UK.

This brings Toorak’s cumulative securitisation volume to $1.25bn (approximately £950m).

Toorak’s securitisation — which features a two-year revolving period, during which time loan payoffs can be reinvested in new loans — drew investor orders significantly in excess of the quantity of notes offered and the offering was upsized by 33% during the marketing period.

“Our success in this market is a direct result of our commitment to maintaining the highest credit standards,” said John Beacham, chief executive officer at Toorak.

“We appreciate the support of our investors which enabled us to upsize the offering, especially during a period of high volatility in the financial markets.”
